Relay For Life – Singapore Cancer Society
At some time or another over a life time everyone will know someone who has had cancer and passed away or who has survived. Relay for Life has become the largest fundraising event for cancer in the world. Celebrated by more than 4 million people in over 20 countries, this inspirational overnight event empowers and unites local communities to fight cancer.
This year, Relay for Life made its debut in Singapore, and Cerebral was the main event organiser to help raise and promote awareness and much needed funds for this illness. The central theme of the event was to celebrate cancer survivors and carers; remember loved ones lost to cancer; and fight back by raising awareness and funds to support work of the Singapore Cancer Society.
The relay teams comprised of survivors, caregivers, families, friends, or individuals, there to fight against cancer or honour the memory of a loved one. The atmosphere was filled with inspirational stories from survivors, memories of the good fight put up by the fallen, and through much tears and laughter, sweat and toil, everyone who participated, went home, 17 hours later, with a strong sense of accomplishment and purpose.
Thank you to all who participated, and to everyone who has to face this dreaded illness, we will continue to keep fighting this fight!
